Jane Vair Bissler, Ph.D., LPCC, FT
Jane has a Master of Education degree in community counseling and a Ph.D. in Counselor
Education and Supervision from Kent State University. She is a licensed professional clinical
counselor and is a fellow in thanatology by the Association of Death Education and Counseling.
Jane publishes a weekly newspaper column addressing issues regarding grief and loss for adults
and children. Jane works with many grief issues stemming from divorce, abandonment, death, loss
of job, empty nest syndrome, and retirement. She enjoys working in the fields of loss, anxiety,
obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression and couples counseling. Jane facilitates several
groups on a weekly basis, as well as working with individuals, couples, and families. She also
enjoys teaching in the master’s level community counseling program at Kent State University.
Tom Foster, M.Ed., LPC
Tom is a doctoral candidate in Kent State University's Counselor Education and Supervision
program. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Ohio and is currently working
toward completing his hours for independent licensure. Tom engages in many types of activities
related to the helping profession; such as direct counseling, research activities, and college
teaching at the graduate level. Come of his interests withing counseling and research are working
with retirement preparation, wellness, lifespan issues, individual psychology, and personality
development. Some of Tom's interests outside his career are writing and playing music, cooking,
running, swimming, biking, traveling, and spending time with friends.
Christine Hutton, M.Ed., LPC
Chris completed her Master's degree in Community Counseling from Kent State University. She is a
Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Ohio and is currently working toward completing
her hours for independent licensure. Chris has a special interest in working with those who are
grieving the loss of loved ones. She also enjoys working with adolescents and their families.
Jill J. Jividen, M..Ed., LPC
Jill has a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from The University of Akron and a Master of
Education degree in community counseling from Kent State University. Jill works with all ages,
specializing in adolescents with learning disabilities and those struggling with eating disorders.
She also enjoys couples counseling and working with women's issues. Jill’s wide range of
experiences provides a unique holistic approach to her counseling.
Salva C. Sedlak, LISW, ACSW, DCSW, FT
Salva has a Master's Degree in Social Work Administration from Case Western University. She is a
Licensed Independent Social Worker, is a Fellow in Thanatology (the study of death and dying),
and holds certificates in clinical social work. Salva has worked win a variety of settings, focusing her
skills on geriatrics, end-of-life issues and grief, loss and life transitions. She has also worked
extensively with marriage and family issues and women's issues. Salva has conducted a wide
variety of support and therapeutic groups and workshops. She has also functioned as a field
instructor for Case Western Reserve and the University of Akron and has been an instructor at
Stark State University.
Rudy, Therapy Dog
Rudy’s open and accepting disposition has been assisting all of the therapists and many clients
with the counseling process for the past 7 years. He looks forward to meeting you!
